Pablo Ernesto Piovano was born on 7 September 1981 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been working as a documentary photographer since the age of 18. He collaborates with various international media such as Geo, Stern, Liberation, L'Expresso, Bloomberg and others. He has received prestigious awards such as the Henri Nannen Prize (2018), the Greenpeace Award (2018), the Philip Jones Griffiths Foundation Award (2017), the Manuel Rivera Ortiz Foundation Award (2016), among others. His work has been exhibited in the most prestigious museums and festivals in Europe. He is the author of the book "The human cost of agrotoxics", published in Germany by Kehrer Verlag in 2017. In 2023 he won the National Geographic Explorer Level II Grant. In 2024 he won the Regional (Latin America) World Press Photo Award in the long-term category.
